PERFORMANCE
GMC Acadia

Whether you’re driving the kids with their teammates to an away game or packing up all your camping supplies for a weekend away, all you need to embark on your drive is a powerful engine under the front hood.

Giving You Options

The Hyundai Palisade is no stranger to power with its 3.8L engine. It achieves up to 291 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. Still, do you know what’s better than one advanced powertrain?

Yes, we’re talking about two powertrains. Though the Palisade is impressive, it only has a singular 3.8L engine. With the GMC Acadia, you’ll have the choice between the standard 2.0L engine and an upgraded 3.6L engine that puts out a whopping 310 horsepower and 271 lb-ft of torque.

Plan Every Stop Along the Way

Power is just the start of what the GMC Acadia has to offer. With its 19.4-gallon fuel tank and an EPA-estimated 22 city/29 highway MPG, you’ll have a highway range of up to 563 miles.

In addition to having a lower fuel economy, with an EPA-estimated 19 city/27 highway MPG, the Palisade also has a smaller fuel tank. The 18.8-gallon fuel tank will only get you as far as 508 miles at best. With the Acadia, you’ll be able to drive an extra 50 miles farther before needing to refuel.

INTERIOR
GMC Acadia

It’s fairly obvious why the GMC Acadia and the Hyundai Palisade are such popular models for big families. After all, they offer three rows of seating and plenty of interior features to enjoy. However, you’ll get more comfort with the Acadia.

Comfort on Every Trim

When it comes to their interiors, the Acadia and the Palisade start out with similar features: three rows, cloth seats, and adjustable front seating. However, their other features begin to diverge. This is especially noticeable when it comes to their base trims.

While the base trim of the Acadia can be equipped with available heated front seats, an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, and driver’s seat lumbar control, none of these features are available on the base trim of the Palisade. You’ll need to upgrade if you want them.

Climate Versatility

The pattern continues as you go up the trims. Whereas ventilated seats are available on all but the base trim of the Acadia, several trims of the Palisade go without. Arguably the most jarring difference between these SUVs comes in the form of their climate control systems.

The Acadia comes standard with a tri-zone automatic climate control system, ensuring that everyone in the vehicle can get comfortable. The Palisade has manual air conditioning on the base trim. While this can be upgraded on higher trims, it will only give you dual-zone automatic temperature control.

SAFETY
GMC Acadia

Of course, the number one priority will always be your family’s safety. This is true whether you’re driving to the grocery store or setting out on a road trip. Fortunately, these SUVs share a plethora of advanced safety systems.

Standard Safety

Regardless of which SUV you drive, you’ll be able to travel confidently due to these standard features:

  • Rear Cross Traffic Alert
  • Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning
  • Forward Collision Alert
  • HD Rear Vision Camera

You’ll even have a system that will remind you of rear-seat passengers when you park your car. This system is called Rear Seat Reminder in the GMC Acadia and Rear Occupant Alert in the Palisade.

New Driver Safety

However, there’s one feature of the GMC Acadia you won’t find in the competition. This system is called Teen Driver. We know that no matter how old your kids are, they’re still your kids and you want to protect them. With Teen Driver, you can feel confident that your teen is safe on the road.

This feature activates specific systems, limits certain features, and even gives you an in-vehicle report card that will help you keep an eye on how your new driver is doing.
